T-Rev

Baby Trevor is already 6+ weeks old...time flies when you're having fun!  I get the privilege of watching him a few times each week and he has mentioned on more than one occasion that I'm his very favorite person ever.  Duh. I always take at least five pictures while he's here and thought this was the perfect opportunity to post them (since our lives are kinda lame right now...baseball, soccer, basketball, rinse, repeat).  T-Rev makes some pretty funny faces when he's "talking" :)

My kids still loooovvveee Trevor and Carter texts Annie almost every night to drop by!
Celebrating MauMau's birthday

Look at them long, skinny legs!

These pictures crack me up. Scott is not a fan of holding other peoples babies and Trevor looks like he's saying "What you talkin' bout Uncle Scott?" Ha!

Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated our neighbor Megan's 1st birthday with an extravagant party at her house.  Inflatable obstacle courses (2!), horse rides, great food...all that was missing was a military fly-over :) They totally raised the bar on neighborhood kids birthday parties and I'm going to have to start watching MTV's 'My Sweet 16' to get ideas for Cate's next party!!

Biggest blow-up ever. The boys played on it for 3 hours

Avery and Cate had a great time playing together again.

Patriots Day

Each year on 9/11, Worthen School celebrates Patriots Day.  This year, a few 5th graders were chosen to write a small speech about the flag they were presenting...Bennett carried flag # something.  7 maybe?  No clue and the program is already tucked away into his 'School Memory' box in the basement.  Anyway, he gave his speech describing the significance of his flag, and then he and a classmate held his flag for the remainder of the ceremony.  Brady's class made patriotic hats to wear and sang several songs throughout the presentation.  Very cool stuff.

A little bright for Brady :)

Bennett reading his speech.  He spoke slow and clear and remained calm...just like we practiced.

There were 15 flags total

I had never attended a Patriots Day celebration before because I thought it was just the kids standing around the flag pole singing a few songs and that was it.  However, when Ben told me he had a significant part in the presentation...the night before....I knew it was something I didn't want to miss.  I tried calling everyone to join us, but my dad was the only one who made it.  Of course he thought it was "absolutely unbelievable"...his answer to all things mediocre and beyond :)  But it really was a great assembly...the kids were all well behaved and I love hearing children sing patriotic songs.  I could just hear my Grandma Georgia joining them in song at the top of her lungs
 God Bless the USA!

We dropped Cate off at preschool and headed back to Worthen.  Hadley loved listening to the kids sing and I brought plenty of snacks to help her get through the speeches :)

Labor Day

GC holds a Labor Day parade each year...it's basically a very long parade of union workers walking behind trucks and on an election year, lots of politicians.  Throw in a few firetrucks, the school band, lots of candy and we've got a party!  We met up with Jen, Harper, Delaney, Grammy, Aunt Kathy, Jon, and baby Trevor...good times!! :)
Harper, Cate, and Delaney...ready for some candy!

One of my sisters friends dumped his entire bucket of candy out for the kids.  Good thing Cate and Harper have older siblings willing to do the work while they enjoy the goods!
Labor Day also marks the end of summer and the closing of our pool :(  The temperature wasn't exactly swim-worthy, but no way were they going to miss the last day!  Warning: lots of pictures below

Making her tread water in 11ft deep water is probably bad parenting, but I wanted to get a good picture!

Pick it girl!

Good bye lazy days of summer and kick-butt tans.  Hello jeans and sweatshirts, football, chili, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  Guess that's not such a bad trade off.
HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!
